Van Panther return with a claustrophobic new single and video To Live & Die

To Live & Die focuses on the harsh realities surrounding entrapment within one’s hometown. Perhaps it’s the lack of Travel that’s got you down? Or the recent social limitations imposed due to Covid-19? This feeling of isolation in the midst of summer is a difficult one to process, but To Live & Die encapsulates these feelings in the midst of a rare summer groove; this is a song about wanderlust, but given our current circumstances, you will have to let the music take you there instead.

Van Panther is an experimental pop and post-punk band based in Limerick. The group fuses the intricate elements of electronica with pop-orientated sensibilities, and the jarring headstrong nature of post-punk with the nostalgic groove of indie-rock (albeit with lots of other bits thrown in). The concoction makes for a visceral live experience that swoons and screams, keeping everybody on their toes.

Formed in 2016 by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kieran Ralph, the project has since released three commercially available EP’s to date: Café van Hemel (2016), Hark! (2017), and Overcast (2019).

The response to the latest EP Overcast was overwhelmingly positive, with national and international platforms such as RTÉ’s 2fm and BBC Radio’s Across The Line programme praising songs from the EP. The song No Seasons from the EP was also featured on the Spotify Editorial playlist An Alternative Éire.
