Rory Ryan’s debut EP makes for some nostalgic washed out dream-pop bliss

Rory Ryan is a musician and producer based in Galway taking influence from neo-psychedelia bands such as MGMT, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Beach House, Cigarettes After Sex and The Flaming Lips, as well as a deep love for the sounds of the 80’s.

Bedroom pop that’s trying to escape through the skylight.

EP 1 is a self-produced 6 track body of work falling into the dream-pop/synth-pop genre. Washed out synth-heavy instrumentation gives the EP a healthy dousing of nostalgia and melancholy, confidently walking the line between happiness and sadness.

Having spent the past 18 months locked away in a room developing his sound and skill, Ryan has created something quite special… EP 1 is a blissful and engaging listen and marks the Galway producer out for big things this year.
