Optimistic, meditative and hypnotic, I’m Not Gone Away That Far, Not Really is the brilliant new single from Tralee songwriter/producer Scenes.
It first appeared as part of the ‘Quaranzine’ Collection by Mother Marx and Mankyy (available here), examining the theme of connection as a response to the lockdown.
“The track is heavily inspired by the quieter Smashing Pumpkins tunes, The Blue Nile, and the time that Napoleon commissioned a massive sculpture of himself where his head was placed on the body of the Roman god of war, Mars. Lyrically, it explores how the difficulties of geographical distance can be mitigated by shared appreciation of the small stuff.”
