Moon Looks On releases new single, the freewheeling Carry You, Carry Me

Moon Looks On is the musical moniker of Sligo’s Stephen Gormley, a songwriter of great skill who evokes West of Ireland landscapes, Dublin city nights and summers spent surfing. Influenced by singer-songwriters like Tracy Chapman, John Martyn, Ben Howard and Johnny Flynn, Moon Looks On packs emotion into the ballads, folk and pop songs that he writes. Latest single Carry You, Carry Me is a freewheeling track full of momentum that continues in the affecting and evocative easy-listening style that Gormley has mastered.

I was born on the west coast of Ireland and I spent a lot of my life living close to the ocean; there’s a draw to the sea that’s hard to explain but it gets into your bones and it never leaves. The natural world has a mystical draw for me and I find myself constantly returning to these themes in my songs – even more so now that I’ve returned to my home county of Sligo where the ocean and the mountains are on my doorstep.
