Going Coastal: West Coast Punx

Aras na nGael
8pm November 18th

€10 on the door

As part of the Going Coastal festival, West Coast Punx presents Wrong Life, Rash Decision, Bar Tape and Abandoned Planets in Aras na nGael.

West Coast Punx started in around 2016, becoming a mainstay in Galway’s growing punk scene. DIY is the main ethos of WCP: we feed the bands, let them sleep in our beds and on our floors and don’t make a penny doing it. We do it purely to push savage Punk bands alongside good strong politics whilst still having the craic. Also msg us if ye have a band that wants to play! Up the Punx n Skins!

On the bill Saturday in Aras na nGael night are Wrong Life (Scottish Punk), Rash Decision (English HC Punk), Bar Tape (Dublin Pop Punk) and Abandoned Planets (Galway Space Punk).

Going Coastal is a festival of contemporary original music featuring young, emerging and established acts from the western edge of Ireland. It takes place over five days, from November 15 – 19, across nine venues in Galway City and includes events curated by The Black Gate, A Modern Movement, Free House, Strange Brew, West Coast Punx, Gash Collective, Ar Ais Arís, Rough Cut, Yawlag Collective, That’s Life, Genuine Irish and Livefeed.

The aim of Going Coastal is to contribute to an inclusive and sustainable vision for independent music on the western edge of Ireland… one that supports emerging artists, celebrates local music heritage, and connects artists, promoters and enthusiasts from across the region.
