Pleroma is a project by Roscommon native Declan Hurley, accompanied occasionally on drums by his nephew Craig Hughes who hails from Ballyhaunis. The music is inspired as much by David Bohm and Carl Jung as by Elliot Smith and Thom Yorke while topics for discussion range from the backroads of Roscommon to the philosophy of the mind.
Earlier recordings were primarily Lo-Fi acoustic offerings while more recent projects have utilised synths, loops and drum machines. The online collaboration website wikiloops.com has also borne the occasional transcontinental song. Declan has been living on the Arabian peninsula for the past few years working as a science teacher, he will return to the west of Ireland in 2021, keen to be part of the vibrant local music scene.
All recordings can be found on Bandcamp.
